BUILD IT GREEN!NYC HELPS SUPPORT WATERTOWER PIECE IN BROOKLYN
July 6, 2012
By now you may have noticed the kaleidoscopic WATERTOWER overlooking the Manhattan Bridge and decorating the Brooklyn skyline. This piece, created by Tom Fruin and staying on display through June 2013, was created from materials salvaged all throughout New York, including from the Build It Green!NYC warehouse in Astoria. Lit during the day by the sun and at night by its own programmed light source, it’s an impressive work of art no matter when you happen to see it.
This piece was supported in part by a Build It Green!NYC BIG! Gives Back materials grant and can be found at 20 Jay Street in Brooklyn. Read the BIG!NYC article for more information.
